The Taitaja Buses

The free-of-charge Taitaja bus drives non-stop and passes by the hotels in Joensuu city centre, Vetrea, Railway station and the Joensuu Arena during Mon.-Thu. 20-23 May 2019.

The other free-of-charge Taitaja bus drives the route: the Joensuu Arena – city centre (Carelicum) – Holiday centre Huhmari as follows:

    • At 19.45 p.m. Railway Station – at 19.50 p.m. city centre (Carelicum) – Holiday centre Huhmari
  • Monday 20 May 2019, 2 buses
    • At 18.00 and 21.00 p.m. the Joensuu Arena – city centre (Carelicum) – Holiday centre Huhmari
  • Tuesday 21 May 2019, 2 buses
    • At 9.00 a.m. Holiday centre Huhmari – the Joensuu Arena

Joensuu Airport

The Joensuu airport is located approximately 11 kilometres from the city centre of Joensuu. You can take an airport bus from the airport to the Joensuu city centre. The bus costs 5 euros per person. You can find the timetables and the bus route here. A taxi from the airport to the Joensuu city centre costs approximately 30 euros.

Joensuu Railway Station

From Finland’s cities you can easily and comfortably get to Joensuu by train. The distance between the Joensuu railway station and the Market Square is 900 m, and between the railway station and the Arena 1,8 km. The Taitaja bus passes the railway station during 20.-23.5.2019.

Local buses

Local buses leave from stops around the Market Square and you can also get on at stops along the route. Ticket prices depend on your age and the zone you are traveling in. You can find more information about the bus stops and routes here.

From the city centre to Joensuu Arena

The easiest way to get to the venue of the competition is by foot. The distance between the city centre and the Arena is only 1,1 kilometres. You can also take a bus number 4 which leaves from the bus stop Koskikatu L and then get off the bus at the bus stop Mehtimäki P.
